Local Pharmacies – Providing Minor Ailment Services


The Minor Ailment Services allow people who don’t pay prescription charges to obtain advice and treatment for common conditions from local pharmacies for free without needing to visit a GP. See further information in Downloads box. Some of the services offered are for:

  • Athlete’s foot  
  • Back-pain     
  • Cold sores; Constipation; Cystitis; Cough colds and sore throat; Contact dermatitis                      
  • Dyspepsia and indigestion; Diarrhoea
  • Earache
  • Haemorrhoid Conjunctivitis; Hay fever and allergies; Headache and fever Insect bites and stings; Head lice
  • Minor injuries
  • Nappy rash
  • Ringworm
  • Sprains and strains
  • Teething; Threadworm
  • Vaginal thrush
  • Warts and verruca

Noel Park Big Local Befriending Project

Anyone is eligible to have a befriender as long as they live in the Noel Park area and have a need for such support. People can refer themselves or be referred by other agencies such as GP’s surgeries, social services, community organisations or friends and family.
